We Started With a Spreadsheet Crisis
Back in 2019, one of us was planning a charity fundraiser in Melbourne. The budget spreadsheet had 47 tabs. Three people made conflicting changes. The file corrupted two days before the event.
That mess turned into luntharivelo. We figured if tracking event money gave us headaches, others probably felt the same way. So we built something simpler. Something that doesn't require a finance degree to understand.
Today we help community groups, small businesses, and event coordinators across Australia keep their budgets from turning into chaos. No fancy jargon. Just straightforward tools that actually work.
Saoirse Dunne
Co-founder & Budget SystemsSpent eight years managing project budgets for non-profits before getting fed up with clunky software. I kept seeing the same problems everywhere—overly complicated tools that nobody actually wanted to use.
When I'm not working on luntharivelo, I'm usually cycling around Lake Burley Griffin or trying new recipes that probably have too much garlic.
Branimir Sokol
Co-founder & Client ExperienceMy background is in hospitality management, where tracking costs down to the last dollar actually matters. Lost count of how many events I've coordinated where the budget went sideways halfway through.
I joined forces with Saoirse because we both believed event planning shouldn't require a finance team on standby. Also, she makes excellent coffee.
How We Got Here
From that first corrupted spreadsheet to helping hundreds of events stay on track. Here's the short version of what happened along the way.
The Spreadsheet Disaster
That charity fundraiser nearly didn't happen because we couldn't track who spent what. After pulling an all-nighter to reconstruct the budget by hand, we knew there had to be a better way. Started sketching ideas on napkins at a café in Braddon.
First Real Client
A community festival in Woden gave us a chance to test our early prototype. They were skeptical—understandably—but desperate enough to try something new. When they came back for their second year, we knew we had something worth developing.
Opening in Fyshwick
Set up our first proper office at the Canberra Outlet Centre. Started with just the two of us and a lot of optimism. By the end of the year, we'd worked with over 50 different events and learned what actually matters to people managing budgets.
Where We Are Now
We've helped coordinate budgets for everything from small birthday parties to multi-day conferences. Still learning. Still improving our tools based on real feedback from people who use them every day. And yes, we still use some spreadsheets ourselves—old habits and all that.
Keep It Simple
Event budgets are stressful enough without confusing software making things worse. We build tools that get out of your way so you can focus on the actual event, not fighting with formulas.
Real Solutions
Every feature we add comes from actual problems people told us about. We don't add bells and whistles just because we can—we add things that genuinely help.
Honest Conversations
When something breaks or doesn't work right, we say so. When we can't help with something, we'll tell you that too. No corporate runaround or vague promises.
Always Learning
We're constantly tweaking and improving based on what you tell us. Your feedback directly shapes how luntharivelo evolves—because you're the ones actually using it.
Local Focus
Based in Canberra, working with clients across Australia. We understand the local event scene, the vendors, the seasonal patterns—all the stuff that matters when you're planning something real.
Human Support
You'll talk to actual people when you need help. No chatbots. No ticket queues that go nowhere. Just us, probably drinking too much coffee, ready to figure things out with you.
